NATIONAL KURULTAI: THE INTERSECTION OF NATIONAL CONSENSUS AND CONCRETE DECISIONS

Today, the city of Kyzylorda hosted the 5th session of the National Kurultai, which allowed for an expanded substantive dialogue between society and government and a comprehensive discussion of pressing issues on the national agenda.

A significant portion of the initiatives proposed at previous sessions was reviewed at the parliamentary level and implemented through concrete legislative measures. In particular, as part of the implementation of Kurultai initiatives following four sessions, 26 laws were adopted, and work is currently underway on 10 draft laws in various areas. This process contributes to increasing transparency in the system of government administration and strengthening feedback with society.

The issues discussed at the Kurultai are closely connected to strategic objectives in education and science. The university’s main goal is to train qualified personnel in accordance with the needs of regional and national development, to increase scientific potential, and to foster professional and civic responsibility among youth. Measures in this direction are systematically being implemented through the modernization of educational programs, strengthening practice-oriented learning, and expanding international cooperation.

At the current stage, the development of digital transformation, new technologies, and artificial intelligence sets new requirements for the higher education system. For universities, this means the need to update the educational process, focus scientific research on applied results, and develop students’ digital competencies. Accordingly, work is being carried out step by step to adapt educational content to modern requirements and support innovative projects.

The issues raised at the Kurultai—such as “Law and Order,” principles of justice, the value of labor, reading culture, family and child safety, and public ethics—resonate with the university’s educational work and its principles of social responsibility. These areas contribute to broadening students’ horizons, forming civic positions, and encouraging active participation in public initiatives.

In conclusion, the National Kurultai held in Kyzylorda demonstrated that it serves as an important platform connecting public opinion with concrete decisions. The university community, by supporting initiatives aimed at the development of society and the state, will continue to contribute to quality education, scientific advancement, and the cultivation of responsible citizens.
