FUTURE HYDROECOLOGISTS VISITED THE NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC LABORATORY FOR COLLECTIVE USE

Second- and third-year students of the 6B05203 educational programme ‘Hydroecology, Management and Transboundary Water Security’ at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University visited the National Scientific Laboratory for Collective Use.

Valentina Nikolaeva, an employee of the Laboratory of Plant Biology and Biotechnology, gave a lecture to the students on ‘Water protection zones and coastal protection strips as a tool for the hydroecological protection of water bodies.’ The meeting discussed the main territorial mechanisms for regulating economic activities aimed at protecting water resources. Particular attention was paid to the role of water protection zones and coastal protection strips as an effective tool for reducing anthropogenic pressure on aquatic ecosystems.

The event contributed to deepening the students’ professional knowledge and allowed them to link theoretical provisions on regulatory, legal and territorial mechanisms for the protection of water bodies with the practical aspects of their application.
